30 Days of Creativity: Day 27 – Navigation Tools

Today’s prompts:

  • If I were a lamp, I would…
  • If I were a lifeboat, I would…
  • To be a ladder means…
  • I can help someone’s soul heal by…

If I were a lamp, I would shine the brightest in the dark. I’d work to be an everlasting flame, too powerful to extinguish. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.’Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” – Matthew 5:14 – 16

If I were a lifeboat, I would hold steadfast to my faith and determination. I wouldn’t fear the coming storm because I know that God will keep me safe and will always have my back. I’d travel the world meeting new people and sharing my life with them.

To be a ladder means to be a tool to help another. A ladder is used to reach great heights that seem impossible from far below. Becoming a ladder means sacrificing your needs for the needs of others in hopes that they’ll achieve the impossible.

I can help someone’s soul heal by showing them the sacrifice that Jesus made to save my soul. By living my life for God and showing everyone around me what a true disciple looks like, I believe God will heal their scars. Living a life of love is the most important of the commands God gives. And that small ounce of love I can show towards others could change their lives forever.

“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” – 1 John 4:12
